A new tourism aid package of €600 million follows the €380 million aid fund in August. The sums, which will be available from 28 February, can be used either in the form of tax credits or grants. The non-reimbursable amount is capped at €40,000 and can be used for energy efficiency improvements, extraordinary maintenance, barrier removal and renovation. This can be used to pay 50% of the actual renovation/improvement. The amount can be increased up to €100,000 if the beneficiary is a woman or a young entrepreneur, if the application is from the Italian South and the main objective is digitalisation. The tax credit can be used to pay e.g. VAT, social contributions, local taxes for operating entities and for non-operating entities e.g. post office, banks, other financial intermediaries, energy suppliers.
