Our European association, FoodServiceEurope (FSE), has been admitted to the European Food and Agriculture Council (EFSA) following the Commission’s acceptance of its application for membership. FSE’s application was one of 30 accepted out of 190, giving the organisation a five-year membership of the Council.
EBAF aims to engage in a strategic dialogue on the future of the agri-food sector. The first meeting took place on 4 February, where the FSE representative presented their priorities on public procurement, sustainability and regulatory simplification. The President of the Council, Christophe Hansen, EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, presented the main orientations for future EU policies, with a focus on increasing the competitiveness of agriculture, accelerating innovation and simplifying regulation.
For the association, this is an important milestone that gives it the opportunity to directly influence future agricultural policy decisions and to contribute to the consideration of the hospitality sector.
