The key findings of the Randstad Workmonitor 2024 Hungary report could have a major impact on businesses. According to the survey, the most important aspects for Hungarian workers when choosing a job are wages, work-life balance and job security. 73% of employees feel that their current job provides a good work-life balance, but many still want more flexibility in terms of where and when they work.

A key finding of the report is that 58% of workers feel that their current job provides the training opportunities they need. However, many (29%) said they would leave their jobs if they were not given the opportunity to develop their skills, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI) and other technological advances.

Working from home and flexibility are also important issues for workers. More than 40% of respondents do not compromise with the home-office option and would like more flexibility in terms of working.

Economic uncertainties and the impact of inflation are also major pressures on the workforce. According to the report, nearly 40% of respondents are concerned about job security and more are looking for second jobs or working longer hours to increase their income.

Overall, the report shows that wages, stability, training opportunities and flexibility are particularly important factors for workers. Raising the minimum wage and the resulting wage congestion could further increase the pressure on employees. They need to pay particular attention to ensure competitive wages, increase flexibility and continuously develop workers’ skills (Randstad Hungary).
