An important step forward has been taken in vocational training in the Hungarian tourism and hospitality sector: on the initiative of our association, a new specialization has been added to the list of professions with the amendment of Government Decree 84/2025. (IV. 22.) – under the name of Hotel Organizer. The new field will be part of the “Tourism Technician” vocational training program, alongside the existing tour guide and tourism organizer fields.

During the training, students will be prepared for jobs such as receptionist, spa receptionist, room reservation clerk, and hotel caretaker. Practical knowledge will play a key role: the five-year training program will include a minimum of 375 hours of summer internship and the entire 13th grade will be spent as a workplace internship. The studies are financed by state funds.

Our association initiated the launch of the training program in response to the needs of hotel employers in order to strengthen the supply of new talent, reduce labor shortages, and develop more targeted professional competencies at the secondary level.
