The new PANTOUR project handbook has been published, providing practical guidance on equality, diversity, and inclusivity (EDI) for organizations working in tourism and hospitality. The publication, entitled “Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Handbook of Best Practices,” aims to help small and medium-sized enterprises create a more equitable and inclusive workplace environment.
The publication pays particular attention to the integration of disadvantaged groups, including people with disabilities, women, ethnic minorities, and other underrepresented groups, into the workplace. It also highlights the need for intercultural awareness, overcoming unconscious bias, and promoting social equity.
The handbook provides detailed information on how practical tools can be used to support the development and implementation of EDI strategies in the workplace. It also includes case studies from 31 European organizations in the tourism and hospitality sector, illustrating good practices for promoting social inclusion. The publication also provides an analysis of the EDI-related policy and training situation in the ten countries belonging to the PANTOUR consortium, as well as practical guidance on developing inclusive training, planning change management processes, and implementing corporate EDI action plans.
The aim of PANTOUR is to use the handbook to provide tangible assistance to industry players in creating a respectful, fair, and diverse workplace environment, which will contribute to the long-term economic and social sustainability of tourism.
