Our association is also a member of the PANTOUR consortium as a working group leader. The recently published PANTOUR Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Handbook presents 31 best practices for promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in the tourism and hospitality sector. A standout example from Hungary is Nem Adom Fel Café and Restaurant, the first hospitality venue in Budapest founded and operated by people with disabilities.
The restaurant is committed to being accessible and welcoming to everyone, placing special emphasis on meeting the needs of both employees and guests with disabilities. This includes features such as spacious, barrier-free interiors and easy physical accessibility. Employees are further supported by visual tools such as a color-coded system and a task workbook with images and diagrams, which help them carry out daily tasks efficiently.
Nem Adom Fel Café is a powerful example of how employees with disabilities can deliver the same high-quality service as any other colleague, promoting fairness and inclusion in the workplace.
