On 18 and 19 September, Budapest hosted the fifth consortium meeting of the PLAN’EAT project, where our association participated and European partners discussed the challenges and opportunities for the development of sustainable food systems. The purpose of the event was to review the progress of the project as well as the next steps and to work together on interventions to support sustainable food consumption and production.

On the first day, after a progress report from the working groups, consortium members reviewed developments at micro, meso and macro levels. Three different workshops took place in the afternoon, where participants were able to practice some of the steps of the policy summits to help managers of the Living Laboratories (LL) better understand the decision-making processes, and adapt the questionnaires for meso-level interventions for food chain actors, while the third workshop was on the organisation and implementation of micro-level interventions.

On the second day, participants discussed how to mainstream sustainability, raise students’ food and nutrition awareness and test a web-based meal planning tool.
