Nevertheless, they also bring with them serious security challenges. 44% of respondents have experienced a cloud data security incident, most often caused by human error.

In the tourism sector, cloud technologies in online booking and CRM systems, data centres and developer platforms are modernising services, making them easier and more accessible to use. However, data security is of paramount importance, especially the protection of passenger data.

Adequate cloud security is essential to realise the potential of tourism. Companies need to put more emphasis on encrypting data and modernising legacy systems.
