Spring 2025 travel trends reflect the demand for personalized experiences and the diversity of travel preferences. Individual travel continues to be a prominent trend, as adventurous travellers increasingly opt for longer, up to 17-night trips with a focus on more relaxed, slower-paced “soft travel” experiences. Demand for this type of travel is up 90% among solo travellers this spring, while the number of people travelling with their pets has also increased significantly – with more than 40% more people taking their pets with them compared to last year.
For families, spring break is a great opportunity to spend quality time together. For this type of trip, family-friendly destinations with a variety of events and activities are becoming increasingly popular. Places such as the Cologne Carnival, which offers cultural experiences, or the Ubatuba Aquarium in Brazil, where educational activities are offered, are all popular with families. Trends also show that interest in rural travel is on the rise, while coastal cities such as Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Basel in Switzerland and Cologne in Germany have also become attractive destinations (Airbnb Newsroom).
